This role will serve as the Process Control Data Historian engineer for the Spruance plant site in Richmond, VA. The position requires providing vision, leadership, day-to-day system administration, and strong communication for supported systems. This position is part of the DuPont® Protection Solutions (DPS) Process Control Manufacturing Technical organization which supports 3 major product lines. The Process Control Data Historian systems for these products are complex. The position also supports DCS auto-documentation systems. While the largest part of the work is for the Richmond, VA, plant (where this position is located), this position also involves improvements and support for two smaller off-site facilities. All three sites use Honeywell Uniformance PHD as their primary Process Control Data Historian. This is a dynamic time period as the Spruance site will pilot new data historian functionality and complete significant upgrades to the system architecture over the next 2 years. Occasional guidance, upgrades, and support will also be required for some other sites and facilities using Honeywell and possibly other data historian systems. This work requires excellent teamwork with other Process Control engineers and other area personnel to develop joint plans, communicate well on system changes and needs, and ensure predictive and reactive work provides spectacular uptime for these systems. The majority of the work will be done during regular weekday hours. However, 24x7 support is a strong requirement of this job. This system requires immediate support on off-hours when there are any issues to ensure systems continuity is maintained or rapidly restored. This position will require some travel for training, occasional work with other facilities, serving as a representative for User Subcommittees, and for involvement with DuPont® Center of Competency activities. However, travel will not be excessive.
