JPI was awarded the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies (OCSIT) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). This Technical Support Services Blanket Purchase Agreement (GTSSBPA) supports four major areas including GSA tools and services, citizen-facing tools and services, support for memos and letters issued by the Executive Office of the President, and support for e-Gov initiatives. This significant contract win reinforces the credibility we established with GSA at the start of our relationship with the organization in 2004. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Office of C4 and Sensor Capabilities (CG-761) envisioned a business environment in which it could collaborate with field users and C4ITSC to develop solutions to meet functional needs across USCG. To facilitate more standardized and transparent engagement, JPI implemented a project management methodology, Project Rigor at the project, program, and portfolio levels. Our portfolio management framework helped establish organizational governance structure, policies, and procedures, launching the C4ISR and Information Technology (C4ISR&IT) Resource Council, as well as streamlining the requirements validation process. JPI was named to the list of 2014 Best Places to Work in Virginia based on an annual statewide survey and awards program created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. Companies across the state entered the two-part survey process, completing a review of the highest caliber in multiple categories. The first part of the survey consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This contributed to a quarter of the overall evaluation. The remaining assessment accounted for employee experiences. U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Command, Control, Communications Computers, and Information Technology Service Center (C4ITSC) needed to evolve in an environment characterized by increasing budget pressure, need for transparency and accountability, and a demand to interact more uniformly with other Service and Logistics Centers and their customers. To help address these management realities, we delivered program management support and implemented agile solutions that grow with C4ITSC transitions, driving the success of high-risk, high-value projects including the C4ITSC and Centralized Service Desk, DCMS Business Model Integration, and Recapitalization, Sustainment and Transition (RST). In 2014, JPI received the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Small Business Achievement Award for “outstanding work in support of the DHS mission” while supporting the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) Program Management Office (PMO). As part of our support, we provide comprehensive program management, requirements management, solutions and system development, technical direction, testing, and program services in support of the HSIN platform. As a result of our collaborative efforts with HSIN, we were able to influence a cost savings for the client of nearly $3M in annual expense and established a sustainable approach to process development and integration. The JPI Team provided us with real world examples and energized us to evaluate our most vital processes using the techniques and tools from the training.
