The President will be responsible for developing and executing the business plan, the value proposition for prospective customers, building products and services that meet the needs of its customers, and growing the business. S/he will provide the leadership to enable the organization to execute on these growth strategies. This leader will continue to shape the organization, enhancing the customer-centric culture while establishing operational infrastructure and processes to drive clear, credible and profitable performance. S/he will communicate effectively throughout the organization, ensuring the deliverables of the company are clear, understood and met in a timely manner. The President must balance the needs of the business plan, while striving to build long-term value within an integrated delivery network.
The President will be a focused leader with a passion for building and transforming the way current patient healthcare solutions are reimbursed and provided with the ultimate aim of improving quality of care, while also maximizing the affordability and cost-effectiveness of care provided. The President will have the knowledge and commitment to develop targeted products for commercial and government funded populations. In developing, selling, and delivering these products, the President represents Optima Health to the employer, payer, and broker communities, and ensures a consistent, best-in-class experience and a high level of engagement for members.The President will develop and mentor a superior team of leaders to meet the evolving market demands and competitive requirements. S/he will serve as an inspirational leader who reinforces the mission and values of Sentara Healthcare.The President will have the experience and understanding that comes from working in best-of class organizations that operate in the healthcare insurance arena, and will have applied sound, replicable business solutions to address the changing focus of healthcare to a more consumer-oriented, risk-based model. This position calls for the talents and experience of a respected and dynamic leader who is effective in establishing credibility with clients, physicians, executives, and employees. S/he will have an excellent reputation, gained through proven success within the healthcare insurance industry.
MBA, MHA, MPH, or graduate degree in a management field.
– 10 to 15 years of senior-level health plan or managed care experience; familiarity with integrated healthcare systems is preferred.
– Proven track record of developing/executing strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.
– Thorough understanding of the evolving healthcare environment, including innovations and best practices in health plan products and customer experience.
– Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
– Comprehensive understanding of relevant state and federal rules and regulations.
– Strong financial performance in previous roles.
– Track record of building, leading, and developing a high-performing team.
