The Department of the Treasury, an innovative, customer-driven, results-oriented state agency providing financial management services for the Commonwealth, seeks a Deputy State Treasurer (Chief Operation Officer) who will collaborate with the State Treasurer to provide overall direction & leadership in the day-to-day operations of the agency. The Deputy Treasurer reports directly to the State Treasurer and serves as a senior member of the leadership team.
Key performance objectives for the Deputy Treasurer include:
Provide strategic direction and manage multiple and diverse functions including the administration of Unclaimed Property and Risk Management programs, cash management & the investment of public funds, issuance & management of state debt, provision of routine and specialized banking services to state agencies, the preparation of financial statements for various state entities, and the provision of information systems services within the agency.
Formulate and drive strategic business solutions throughout the agency by inspiring others, ensuring positive working relationships, and promoting collaboration within and across divisions.
Develop and implement the agency's strategic plan, budget, and key legislation.
Utilize quantitative and qualitative measures to evaluate division performances.
Supervise senior-level executives and managers in support of agency initiatives and objectives.
Deliver effective and concise oral and written communications.
Successfully represent the Treasurer as necessary within & outside the agency, including other government executives, elected officials, the Office of the Secretary of Finance, Office of the Attorney General, & with the public.
