Ampac currently seeks to fill the position of a Process Engineer at its Suffolk,Virginiamanufacturing operation. The position will provide leadership, management, and support to the production departments by establishing and maintaining process and product quality measurements, requirements, specifications, and communications for product items, process equipment and materials, controls for process conditions, and requirements for production methods and procedures.

Lead, manage, and coordinate the startup, scale up, and stabilization of new work centers and the product types, the work flows, process/machine and product/item controls associated with the work centers. The work centers include:
Laminators (Adhesive or Extrusion)
Provide production and technical manufacturing leadership for the scale up, expansion, stabilization, and control of product families and production work centers:
i.e. the work centers listed above
equipment requirements for process control
training and staffing requirements
process control and product performance measurements and requirements
materials substitution and qualification
vendor qualification and management for process requirements
production control interface with product and schedule requirements
implement, train, and support testing and inspection requirements
process/production work flow and communication requirement
Manage assigned requests, tasks, and projects through planning, organizing, coordinating to ensure required deadlines and expectations are met.
Provide support for manufacturing quality systems documentation, documentation control, production crew training through a document procedure qualification matrix.
Provide of the development and management of documentation control for the Seattle quality system.
Provide project leadership for implementation of productivity and cost reduction initiatives i.e.:
Work center setup improvements
Cross functional work centers and labor team improvements
Tandem work center and labor team improvements
